E9Safety temperature limiter triggered (overheat)

Check for low water pressure, blocked heat exchanger or failed pump. Do not repeatedly reset — call an engineer.

F28Ignition failure — boiler failed to light

Check gas supply is on. May be a faulty ignition lead, electrode or gas valve. Requires engineer diagnosis.

F29Flame loss during operation

Often caused by a faulty gas valve, flame sensor or intermittent gas supply. Engineer visit required.

E5Flow temperature too high

Usually caused by a blocked heat exchanger or failed pump. Check system pressure first (should be 1–1.5 bar).

A21Fan speed fault

Fan operating outside parameters. Fan replacement or PCB fault — requires engineer.

D5Flue gas temperature too high

Can indicate a blocked or incorrectly fitted flue. Engineer inspection required — do not continue using boiler.

How long is the warranty on a new Worcester Bosch boiler?+
With a standard installer, Worcester Bosch offers a 2-year parts and labour warranty. With an Accredited Installer like Anmol Boilers, this extends to up to 10 years on selected Greenstar models. The extended warranty is registered directly with Worcester Bosch by the installer on completion of the job.
What is the difference between the Greenstar 4000 and 8000?+
The Greenstar 8000 is the premium tier, offering higher seasonal efficiency (up to 94% ErP vs 92% for the 4000), lower flow temperatures compatible with heat pumps and underfloor heating, and a more advanced integral controls system. The 4000 is an excellent mid-range choice for most London homes and offers outstanding reliability at a lower price point.
My Worcester Bosch boiler is showing an E9 fault — what should I do?+
An E9 fault means the overheat safety limiter has tripped. Check your system pressure (should read 1–1.5 bar on the gauge) and repressurise if needed. If the fault returns after resetting, do not continue resetting — call us. Repeated overheating can indicate a blocked heat exchanger, failed pump or stuck diverter valve that needs a qualified engineer to diagnose.
Can you service my Worcester Bosch boiler without voiding the warranty?+
Yes. Annual servicing by any Gas Safe registered engineer does not void the Worcester Bosch warranty. To maintain a manufacturer extended warranty, the boiler should be serviced annually. We issue a service record that you can keep alongside your warranty documentation.
