Their 800 range is currently their flagship product line, featuring ErP A-rated efficiency, a 7-year warranty when installed by a Baxi registered installer, and a compact, modern design suited to London homes and flats.

The Baxi 600 and Platinum ranges have been workhorses of the UK heating market for many years and remain among the most installed boilers in the existing housing stock across London. Parts availability for the older Platinum range is excellent, making out-of-warranty repairs straightforward and cost-effective.

Common Baxi Error Codes

E168Fan fault — fan not reaching correct speed or not detected

Fan failure or PCB fault. Boiler locked out for safety — engineer required to test and replace fan.

E119Low water pressure

System pressure has dropped below operating threshold. Repressurise using the filling loop to 1.5 bar. If it drops again, there is a leak — call us.

E133Gas valve / ignition failure

Boiler failed to light or gas valve not functioning correctly. Check gas supply. Engineer diagnosis required — may be electrode, lead or gas valve.

E160PCB fault / internal component failure

Indicates an electronic fault on the main circuit board. PCB replacement or specialist diagnosis required.

E131Flame detected when not expected

Gas valve not closing correctly — a safety-critical fault. Do not use boiler. Call us immediately.

E110Overheat safety thermostat tripped

Check system pressure and pump. If pressure is correct and fault persists, there may be a blockage or pump failure — engineer required.

Fault code not listed, or boiler keeps locking out?

Do not keep resetting a boiler that repeatedly locks out — this can mask a developing fault and cause damage. Call us and describe what you see; we can often diagnose over the phone.

What warranty comes with a new Baxi 800 boiler?+
With a Baxi registered installer like Anmol Boilers, the Baxi 800 series carries a 7-year parts and labour manufacturer warranty. Without a registered installer, the standard warranty is 2 years. We register all Baxi 800 installations directly with Baxi at the time of completion.
My Baxi boiler shows E168 — what does this mean?+
E168 is a fan fault. The boiler has detected that the fan is not running at the correct speed or is not present, and has locked out for safety. This typically requires a fan replacement, though it can occasionally be a PCB issue. It is not a fault you can resolve by resetting — call us and we will carry the correct fan to your property.
Is it worth repairing my old Baxi Platinum boiler or should I replace it?+
If your Baxi Platinum is more than 12–15 years old, the repair-vs-replace calculation generally favours replacement. A modern A-rated combi is 25–35% more efficient than an older G-rated boiler, which translates to meaningful savings on annual gas bills. That said, if the boiler is 8–10 years old and the repair is a straightforward part swap (pump, diverter valve, sensor), repair is usually the better short-term value. We will give you an honest assessment on site.
Can you fix a Baxi Duo-tec that is no longer under warranty?+
Yes. The Duo-tec was one of Baxi's most popular combi boilers and we repair them regularly. Parts availability is good. Common issues include diverter valve wear, heat exchanger limescale (particularly in hard water areas like London), and ignition failures — all of which we can typically resolve in a single visit.
How does the Baxi 800 compare to the Worcester Bosch Greenstar 4000?+
Both are strong mid-to-premium range combis with identical 7-year extended warranty terms when installed by a registered installer. The Worcester Bosch Greenstar 4000 has a longer track record in the current form and arguably a marginal edge in perceived brand reliability. The Baxi 800 is a newer design and typically comes in at a slightly lower installed price. For most London properties either is an excellent choice — we are happy to install either and can advise based on your property's specific requirements.
