Common Vaillant Error Codes

See your boiler displaying an error code? Here is what it means and what to do.

F75Pump or pressure sensor fault

Most common Vaillant fault. Check system pressure (should be 1–1.5 bar). If pressure is fine, likely a faulty pump or pressure sensor — engineer required.

F22Low water pressure

Repressurise the system using the filling loop to 1.5 bar. If pressure drops again, there may be a leak in the system.

F28Ignition failure

Boiler failed to ignite. Check gas supply. May be a faulty ignition electrode, lead, gas valve or PCB.

F29Flame failure

Flame detected then lost. Often a faulty flame sensor, gas valve or intermittent gas pressure issue. Engineer visit needed.

F61Gas valve actuation fault

Gas valve not opening/closing correctly. Requires gas valve test or replacement by a Gas Safe engineer.

F62Gas valve leak detected

Do not attempt to reset. Switch boiler off at programmer. Call us — this may indicate a gas valve safety issue.

Do not keep resetting a boiler that repeatedly locks out — this can mask a developing fault and cause damage. Call us and describe what you see; we can often diagnose over the phone.

What extended warranty can I get on a new Vaillant boiler?+
With a VaillantPRO registered installer like Anmol Boilers, you can receive up to 7 years parts and labour warranty on qualifying ecoTEC models. The standard warranty through any Gas Safe registered installer is 2 years. Extended warranty registration is completed online at the time of installation — you will receive confirmation directly from Vaillant.
My Vaillant boiler shows an F75 error — is it serious?+
F75 is the most common Vaillant fault code. First check your system pressure — it should read 1–1.5 bar when cold. If pressure is low, repressurise using the filling loop. If pressure is correct and the fault persists, it usually indicates a failing pump or pressure sensor, both of which require an engineer to test and replace.
Which Vaillant boiler is best for a large London Victorian terraced house?+
For a large Victorian terrace with multiple bathrooms and a high hot water demand, we typically recommend the Vaillant ecoTEC Plus in a 32kW or 35kW output, or a system boiler paired with a Vaillant uniStor unvented cylinder for simultaneous hot water to multiple outlets.
